PREPARING FOR THE MOVE TO WINDOWS 10

At the beginning of 2020, Microsoft will be ending support of Windows 7. From a technology standpoint, this essentially means that the OS has reached the end of its life. While you’ll still be able to use Windows 7 past this date, Microsoft will no longer be providing patches or security updates. No patches or security updates means that your computer will be more vulnerable to security risks and viruses.

To protect your PC, ITque strongly advises all of its clients that you make the move over to Windows 10. CREATE AN EXIT STRATEGY

There are various reasons why companies hesitate to make the move to a new OS. However, the end of life (EOL) date will be here sooner than you know it. Although you’ll have some leeway – it’ll take a year or two before Windows 7 really becomes unsafe to use – you should begin your migration planning as soon as possible. This way there won’t be any surprises and your company will be thoroughly prepared to make the jump when the time comes.

• You’ll need a hard drive that’s at least 32 GB.
• Your graphics card will need to, at least, be able to run DirectX 9.
• Finally, you’ll need a display that’s 800×600 or greater.
